Seal CE Primary, our Trust school located near Sevenoaks, held its annual Country Show on Saturday, July 5th, in the school grounds.

It was wonderful to see so many people of all ages having a great time. A huge thank you goes out to everyone involved in putting on such a great event including our staff, children, local community and the PTA, and of course, our pupils.

The show commenced with a demonstration of sheep-handling skills by the Year 4 and Year 5 students. The children shared their knowledge on sheep anatomy, different breeds, and how to confidently walk their sheep around the ring, which can be quite challenging, especially when there are tempting grasses and treats!

In the maze, the Year 3 children showcased examples of animal enrichment, including puzzle feeders that encourage foraging for food, as well as various structures designed to enhance animal habitats. The Year 6 students demonstrated their beekeeping skills, and budding artists enjoyed spending time in the arts and crafts tent.

All the micropigs made an appearance from the farm for the annual pig race. After much encouragement and enthusiastic cheers from the audience, our little trainee therapy pig, Mr. Gippy, won the race!

The school farm run open days for the public throughout the year. full details can be found at Seal Community Farm - Seal CofE Primary School
