Residential Trip across the Trust
BackIn April and May this year, Year 5 pupils of Inspire Academy Movement took part in a residental school trip at Carroty Wood. This three day trip was a fantastic opportunity for all the children to participate in a variety of fun and engaging activites such as abseiling, highropes, pedal karting, archery and much much more. Everyone involved had an amazing time!
The children wrote down some 'life-lessons' that they had learnt whilst there:
'to work as a team and help each other when we need to'
'don't think you can't do something until you try'
'not everyone is as brave as others first time so we need to give them time to think'
'you should always give people a chance to show what they can do'
'don't judge people when they are doing the activities'
'believe in other people'
'always trust your gut in what you can do'
'give it a chance and then you will get better and better'
The children also wrote down some of their favourite activities:
'My favourite thing was that we got to do archery because we got to use a bow and arrow and shoot the targets. I got a score of 120!'
'My favourite thing at Carroty Wood was swimming because you get to play and have fun'
'My favourite thing was high ropes because I did the leap of faith!'
'My favourite thing was pedal karting because I lost my balance but I persevered and did not fall over!'
'My favourite thing was facing my fears at abseiling because I was very scared of heights before.'
'My favourite thing was man hunt that we played in the woods because it was so fun because we got to go round the whole woods and play.'
'My favourite thing was pedal karts because they're fun and I got to do it blindfolded!'
